Permissions

Title

We appreciate your interest in using Baker Publishing Group material. Please carefully review the guidelines and policies below before requesting permission or submitting any questions.

Permission requests are reviewed in the order they are received. Please allow 3-5 weeks for a response. If you have an urgent request, please email the permissions coordinator directly after completing the Request Form. Please note that rush requests may result in an increased permissions fee.

Permission to Quote, Reprint, or Otherwise Reproduce Material

Title

Permission to reprint or quote copyrighted material is required by law unless your request is considered "fair use" or the copyright on the text has expired, placing it in public domain. Requests for permission are considered on a case-by-case basis. If granted, a fee may be charged for the use of material. Fees are calculated based on the amount of material used and the purpose of the request. To request permission to copy or reuse portions of our books, complete the Permission Request Form, or email the permissions coordinator using the contact information provided below.

Fair Use Policy

Title

Our standard for fair use is 250 words or less per title, with appropriate citations. However, if you intend to use the excerpt as a stand-alone (such as an epigraph, entry in a devotional book or collection of stories), or the material you desire to use is a stand-alone (such as a chart, graph, cartoon, map, poem, sermon, etc.), you must request permission regardless of word count. If you have questions regarding whether you should request permission or not, please contact us.

Public Domain

Title

As of January 1, 2025, all print materials copyrighted before 1929 are in the public domain. Formal permission to use such material is not required. Please cite the appropriate material, including author, title, copyright date, and publisher.
