Baker Publishing Group Announces Editorial Department Changes
Baker Publishing Group announces changes to their editorial department with the appointments of Jennifer Leep and Jim Kinney into new executive roles. These transitions follow the retirement of Executive Vice President Jack Kuhatschek.
Jennifer Leep and Jim Kinney have been promoted to Executive Vice President of Trade Publishing and Executive Vice President of Academic Publishing, respectively.
In her new role, Leep will lead acquisitions and editorial teams for Michigan-based trade divisions. She began her career at Baker Publishing Group in 1996 as an Editorial Assistant and served as Project Editor and Acquisitions Editor before assuming her current position as Editorial Director for Revell.
In addition to his acquisitions and editorial leadership duties, Kinney will now serve as Executive Vice President of Academic Publishing. He joined Baker Publishing Group in 1996, after eight years with a specialized academic publisher, for an academic marketing role. He currently serves as Editorial Director, Baker Academic and Brazos Press.
Kuhatschek has worked in the publishing industry for over thirty years. He started his career at InterVarsity Press as Bible Study Editor and was responsible for the LifeGuide Bible Study Guides. He then spent sixteen years at Zondervan as Executive Editor, where he worked with authors Rick Warren, John Ortberg, and Bill Hybels. He came to Baker Publishing Group in 2005 as Editorial Director for the Baker Books division. Two years later he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Publisher, where he has served for nearly eight years. While at Baker Publishing Group, he acquired bestselling authors David Kinnaman, Gabe Lyons, and Kay Warren.
“Baker Publishing Group is grateful for the gifts of these three professionals and the service they provide to the church through our publishing resources,” said Dwight Baker, CEO and President. “We wish Jack the best on his upcoming retirement and look forward to the leadership Jennifer and Jim will provide for our publishing groups in the future.”
Baker Publishing Group publishes high-quality writings that represent historic Christianity and serve the diverse interests and concerns of evangelical readers.
