1. Discuss how Philippians 2:6–11 helps us better understand Paul’s christology. Do the same with Colossians 1:15–20.
2. How would you define Paul’s “Adam christology”? How does this idea advance our understanding of Paul’s christology in general?
3. Where do we find evidence that Paul believed in the pre-existence of Christ? What do each of these passages teach us about Paul’s understanding of the Messiah?
4. The chapter notes that Paul’s christology is similar to that found in John and the book of Hebrews. Demonstrate this similarity.
5. How can we go about balancing the present fulfillment in Paul’s eschatology with its future aspects? Is one or the other the larger focus?
