1. Interpretations of who “the man of lawlessness” might be (2:3–4) abound throughout church history. Who do you think it might be? Does it refer to an actual person, or a “type” of person?
2. What exactly is wrong with idleness (3:6–15)? Why should believers work, and what about those who can’t work for reasons of health, age, or situation?
3. Do you find the idea of Jesus’s vengeance difficult to accept (2 Thess. 1:7–8)? Why or why not?
