Assignment Ideas / Class Activities

  1. Instruct the student to compare and contrast the introductions of Paul’s letters and make a list of the similarities and differences between the letters in regard to format, themes, etc.
  2. Use a map projected onto a screen. Have the students identify the key cities on the three missionary journeys, using a different color marker for each journey.
  3. Ask the class to make a chart that illustrates Paul’s theology by finding applicable Scripture verses for soteriology, Christology, and eschatology.
  4. Have a panel discussion that addresses the topic of Pauline ethics for today.
  5. Select an article from a newspaper that presents an ethical issue. Have students write a two-page essay about how Paul’s ethical principles would apply to the issue.
