About
"Catch a Star will not only give you a look into Tamika's life but will also inspire you to strive to be all you can be in life as well."--Tony Dungy, former head coach of the Indianapolis Colts
Growing up, Tamika Catchings suffered from profound hearing loss, bullying, and the anguish of her parents' divorce. But she wasn't about to allow those challenges to determine her destiny. Through perseverance and God's grace, Tamika became one of the top female basketball players of all time.
Catch a Star is her story of overcoming. Of leading the Indiana Fever to its first championship. Of being named one of the WNBA's top fifteen players in history. Of earning three of her now four Olympic gold medals. And of founding the Catch the Stars Foundation to help young people achieve their dreams.
Her story will inspire you to face your doubts and fears and reach for your own dream, no matter what challenges come your way.

Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever was the WNBA's 2011 MVP. A four-time Olympic gold medalist and ten-time WNBA All-Star, Catchings was a four-time All-American and a member of the National Champion University of Tennessee Lady Vols under legendary coach Pat Summitt. Catchings's story of overcoming adversity, growing in faith, and achieving success despite the many challenges she's faced inspires the boys and girls served by her foundation, Catch the Stars, in Indianapolis.

"Tamika Catchings has shown what it means to have the heart of a champion on the court her entire career. In this book, she details her struggles, her triumphs, and her desire to be the best she can be. As a reader, I appreciate her willingness to share her vulnerabilities, and as a friend, I beam with pride at how she channels those vulnerabilities into strengths while impacting those around her. Everyone who reads this book will be impacted by her work ethic, loyalty, and example. The young people who read this will be shown that they can in fact 'catch the stars' if they are willing to commit, persevere, and trust throughout their journey."
Stephanie White, former head coach of the Indiana Fever
"Detailing her achievements on the court barely scratches the surface of her impact in the city of Indianapolis and all over Central Indiana. Tamika has been a shining light in the community, a tireless worker and a tremendous role model for not only young athletes, but for everyone. She is one of the rare superstar athletes who really 'get it.' As a Christian athlete, Tamika understands that she has been gifted by God and with this blessing comes responsibility--a responsibility to give back to those in her community but also a responsibility to let her light shine and point others to Christ."
