Baker Academic Welcomes Two New Hires

Baker Publishing Group is pleased to announce that Louis McBride has joined the Baker Academic and Brazos Press divisions as the new publicist.

McBride worked with the Baker Book House retail division for fifteen years. For the past several of these, his responsibilities included church relations; managing the store’s academic, Catholic, and Bible sections; and writing for the BBH Church Connection blog. He holds an MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Baker Academic has also recently hired Christina Jasko as a textbook specialist. Jasko served as an editorial associate for four years at Baker Academic and holds degrees from Wheaton College (BA) and University of Chicago Divinity School (MA). In this role, Jasko will be responsible for the supplemental materials developed around Baker Academic’s major textbooks, including the Textbook eSources website.

“We are very pleased to have such knowledgeable and experienced additions to our team,” says Bryan Dyer, marketing director for Baker Academic and Brazos Press. “Louis brings over fifteen years of Christian retail experience and a deep understanding of academic books. Christina’s editorial eye and theological mind will shape our growing interest in providing robust resources for our textbooks and enhancing the teaching and learning experience.”

Baker Academic serves the academy and the church by publishing works that further the pursuit of knowledge and understanding within the context of Christian faith. Building on our Reformed and evangelical heritage, we connect authors and readers across the broader academic community by publishing books that reflect historic Christianity and its contemporary expressions. Our authors are scholars who are leaders in their fields, write irenically, and display a healthy respect for other perspectives and traditions. Our goal is to publish books that are notable for their inherent quality and deemed essential reading by students and scholars.

Brazos Press fosters the renewal of classical, orthodox Christianity by publishing thoughtful, theologically grounded books on subjects of importance to the church and the world. We serve authors and readers from all major streams of the historic Christian tradition, recognizing that the renewal of Christian orthodoxy transcends many traditional boundary lines and polarities.
