Baker Books, a division of Baker Publishing Group, is pleased to announce that they have signed a two-book contract with acclaimed singer-songwriter, blogger, and speaker Jenny Simmons.

Jenny Simmons was rising to the top. She had a record contract with Fair Trade Services (formerly INO Records); she was the lead singer of the band Addison Road; and she had sold 135,000 albums, hit the Top 10 on record charts, and had a number-one single. She had a really good plan for her life. But one day that plan went up in smoke. Literally. An explosion and a fire cost her and her husband almost everything they owned, and her life started to unravel, including her finances, career, and the ministry they had built from the ground up.

In The Road to Becoming (Fall 2015), the first book in the two-book contract, Simmons relays the story of her dreams, loss, waiting, and the journey through the land of “in-between” living. She states, “When we find ourselves faced with the choice of taking the unknown road or stubbornly sitting in the ruins of what was or what was supposed to be, a life-changing decision must be made. Stay or go. I decided to go.” Her decision has made all the difference as she has learned to release her past dreams and wait upon God to reveal a new direction and vision for her life.

Simmons adds, “I believe many people resonate with the unraveled dreams and the lostness I experienced on my road to becoming, but they don’t yet have a name for those seasons or a companion to journey with them to the other side.
