Contracts Assistant, Part-time (Ada, Michigan)

About this position:

Baker Publishing Group is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours/week) administrative assistant in the author contract area. This person’s responsibilities will include incorporating notes and revisions into established contract templates, rights- and contract-related correspondence with authors and agents, fielding requests for amendments and reversions, preparing and maintaining contract summary reports, and communicating contract terms with internal departments.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in a pertinent field and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 applications are required for this position. Strong verbal and written communication and negotiating skills, as well as organizational abilities and attention to detail, are essential. Prior experience with administrative work and/or contracts is preferred. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of prioritizing, handling multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting pay commensurate with qualifications and experience. Optional 401(k) with employer match available after three months of employment.
