Paige Woodward is a woman without choices. Her destitute mother's only hope for a cure isn't covered by insurance. When a dream opportunity arises at a brand-new pharmacy, Paige is willing to keep quiet about her past to make sure she lands the job.
For Clarissa Richardson, the dream of running her own pharmacy comes to a screeching halt when her grandfather hires a too-perfect new girl who seems to be hiding something. How far will they go to protect their dreams for tomorrow?
What will happen when one woman's last hope means ruining another woman's greatest dream?
"Waiting for Daybreak by Kathryn 'Katie' Cushman, is a novel about two pharmacists pursuing their dreams and dealing with the past. As a pharmacist-turned-writer, the California author is excited about the October release of her second book.
"Her first novel, A Promise to Remember, was released by Bethany House in October 2007. The American Christian Fiction Writers recently named the novel a '2008 Book of the Year' finalist in the women's fiction category.
"Cushman described seeing her first book in print as 'a dream come true' and recalls falling to her knees in tears because she was so thrilled. 'It was one of those all-my-life-dreams since I was a child,' said Cushman. 'I always had a good imagination. Even as a kid, I would rewrite the ending of books in my head.'
"As a former resident of Birhimgham, Ala., Cushman incorporates her Southern background into the setting. She grew up in Lawrenceberg, Tenn., and set most of Waiting for Daybreak in and around Nashville.
"Cushman came to Birmingham to pursue a degree in pharmacy. While studying at Samford University, an English professor influenced her so deeply that she seriously considered changing her major. She decided to stick with pharmacy and practiced for 10 years.
"However, when her uncle faced a terminal illness, she considered her own life and goals, thus leading to write her first novel. 'I realized that I didn't want to face something like that without at least trying my dream,' said Cushman. When her younger daughter began kindergarten, Cushman was able to focus on her writing career. You can find Cushman's latest release at LifeWay Christian Stores."

"This story is full of multidimensional characters, including two women desperately trying to regain control of their lives. Fans of Kingsbury and Picoult should enjoy this emotion-filled tale.
