About
True joy is within your reach
Joy is a daily choice. When we go through difficult times--times when we think we might break beneath the pressure or the sorrow--joy becomes a choice we make minute by minute. With deep compassion born from experience, Kay Warren offers thirty devotions based on the life-giving principles of her book Choose Joy. Each devotion begins with an encouraging Scripture, followed by Kay's wise words on how to live with joy even when life is hard, our plans are shattered, our health fails, or it feels like we are walking through life alone. Each devotion ends with a short prayer to help bring us closer to the source of all joy--our loving God.
No matter what you're going through, you can choose joy--today, tomorrow, always.
Kay Warren cofounded Saddleback Church with her husband, Rick Warren, in Lake Forest, California, in 1980. She founded Saddleback's Hope for Mental Health Initiative as a way to support individuals and family members of loved ones with mental illness and suicidal ideation. Kay is a board member of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and is active in mental health/suicide prevention efforts in Orange County, California. She is the author of Sacred Privilege, Choose Joy, and Say Yes to God and coauthor of Foundations, a popular systematic theology course used by churches worldwide. Her children are Amy and Josh and Matthew (who is in heaven), and she has five grandchildren.
